Deputy Barry Walker Recognized as DNR Volunteer of the Year
Deputy Barry Walker of the Paulding
County Sheriff’s Office was recognized as the 2014 Volunteer of the Year at the
Georgia Hunter Education Association, Inc. (GHEA) annual banquet. GHEA is
affiliated with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and partners
with DNR to help educate hunters throughout Georgia. For many years, Deputy
Walker has volunteered his personal time teaching hunters safety courses to the
youth in Paulding County. Deputy Walker has also worked with DNR Rangers on
similar events such as their annual Fishing Rodeo.
Deputy Walker won this years award and represents Region 1 for the State of
Georgia. Sheriff Gary Gulledge remarked, “It is wonderful to have Deputies like
Barry Walker who not only serve the citizens of Paulding County in their official
capacity as a Deputy, but serve them during their personal time helping educate
children on hunters safety.”
The Paulding County Sheriff’s Office wants to congratulate Deputy Barry Walker
on winning the 2014 Volunteer of the Year award for GHEA. Good Job Barry!
